Park City, Utah has long been one of my favorite places to ski and one of my favorite overall places to vacation. The skiing is second to none in the United States and for many years has been the home and training site for many US Olympic skiers.

The town was founded in 1869 as a silver mining town. Today the town is home to 7,300 residents and Summit County is home to 29,000. For a town that hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics, it has sure kept that small town feel.

Park City is known for it's winter activities which were made famous during the 2002 Winter Olympics, but it has many great activities throughout the year. Each January Park City plays host to the Sundance Film Festival. The festival attracts thousands of film fans and has become one of the premier festivals that highlights independent film. The summers are filled with recreational activities like hiking, mountain biking, and golf. Those not into the physical activities might enjoy the Park City Food and Wine Classic, the Kimball Art Center, or the Autumn Classics Music Festival. Of course there is nothing wrong with just walking old Main Street. There are shops for the young and old featuring local art, clothing, and Park City souvenirs. At night Main Street comes alive with restaurants for every appetite and local watering holes where you can always find a local microbrew and plenty of live music.
